Tay Temple – single feature

‘Ladybird’ is the latest single from Tay Temple, who fronts an alternative Folk-Rock band based in Manchester. Tay’s vocals are hauntingly beautiful in this track; made even more so by the enchanting harmonies running throughout each chorus. The track is mellow, yet the instrumentation is somehow dynamic and vibrant.

Their songs are very unique and they aren’t afraid to address taboo subjects. In fact, the single depicts the cruel beauty standards women face, while aiming to empower those who are judged by these unrealistic standards . Making Miss Mogul fully endorse this message! We particularly love the line ‘You can stay till your beauty fades away’. This suggests that women are only praised for their appearance, rather than their inner beauty. We love to see artists speaking out about serious topics and they have done this so artistically.

It seems that Tay Temple and her band are already making a splash in the music industry. Rianne Thompson from BBC Introducing described their music as ‘folk with a twist of contemporary; with elements of pop and indie’. Tay takes her inspiration from artists such as Fleetwood Mac, The Cranberries and Avril Lavine. We can’t wait to hear which topics Tay and her band tackle next.
